Gregory Young

Lieutenant Gregory Young supervises the Support Services Unit of the Waycross Police Department. Lieutenant Young started his career with the Waycross Police Department in 2005. After working on the road for a couple of years, he transferred to the Ware County High School as a School Resource Officer. After a period of time he transferred back to the patrol unit where he was promoted to Sergeant Relief Commander in May 2010. After quickly learning his duties he was given the position of Watch Commander, which duties included supervising his own shift. After a position came available, Chief promoted Lieutenant Young where he currently holds the position of Lieutenant of Administration.

Since being employed with the City of Waycross he has achieved a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University (2011), a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University (2013), and a Masters degree in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University (2013). He is also a member of Class 50 of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College.
