Mrs. Brown was hired with the Waycross Fire Department in 1980. She is the Firehouse Software System Administrator. As Firehouse Administrator, she analyzes and reviews data to identify emerging trends in fire service. She participates in fire service organizational meetings, conferences, and association activities and training programs. She provides feedback to the Fire Chief regarding current Firehouse Software/NFIRS issues; provides technical support to the staff; answers questions about data collection; quality and NFIRS coding; establishes guidelines/protocols for the Waycross Fire Department Record Management System; exports data to FEMA; networks with the Georgia State NFIRS Program Manager to enhance firehouse operations; establishes procedures for review/approval of vendor software to ensure compatibility with the current NFIRS Standards.

Other duties include a wide variety of complex and confidential situations. She resolves conflict issues involving the clerical and administrative functions of the office. She provides sensitive material to the Fire Chief as needed. She prepares routine and advanced reports for the Department. Her 30+ years of experience and judgment help to plan and accomplish departmental goals. Her public demeanor, either personal or by phone, enhances the public image of the Waycross Fire Department.
