Robert Bussy Dedication

After a valiant fight with Parkinson’s Disease, Dr. Robert T. Bussey, devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, educator, and community leader passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2014 at age 67. He completed his education in the Waycross City School System and graduated from Center High School in 1965. He then attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia before receiving his Master’s Degree from Valdosta State University and his doctorate degree from Nova University.

He is the son of Ms. Helen E. Ellis of Waycross, Georgia and was married to the former Connie Moody of Palatka, Florida for 41 years. With the arrival of “his girls”, Robyn Nichole and Cheryl Aleshia, the love for his family expanded exponentially. He began his exemplary career in education as a teacher at Ava Street School and Waycross High School. He became an assistant principal at Waycross High before becoming the principal of Center Junior High School, Waycross Middle School, and Ware County High School. He retired from Ware County High School in 2006.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted mother, Helen E. Ellis, a dedicated and loving wife of 40 years, Mrs. Connie M. Bussey; two daughters, Ms. Robyn Bussey, Mrs. Cheryl Burden (Marcus); two grandchildren, Morgan and Mason Burden, and a host of family and friends.
